Starcraft 2 units are important to understand if you are ever going to sharpen your strategic abilities. The key to playing a ripper of a game is to know exactly how your army and base function. To become a dangerous Starcraft gamer you have to spend some time learning about each and every race, by playing with them one by one.

They can show you how, when, why and where to build certain buildings, when and which units to create and how it affects the outcome of your game. By focusing on these elite strategies you prepare yourself for any eventuality in battle. Let’s take a look at the basics of each race and what they have to work with.
Terran Buildings and Units
The mighty Terran race, central figures of the game itself, come with 13 units for you to use in your strategic ground and air assaults. You have your 4 basic infantry units from your barracks, the marine, marauder, ghost and the reaper who are excellent for defending your supply lines early in your game. Then you have your ground artillery, a SCV for collecting resources, a hellion, siege tank and thor unit. There are 5 air assault units to choose from, the Viking, raven, banshee, medivac and the all powerful battlecruiser.
Starcraft 2 units in the Terran race are all mobile. You have a basic command center, a supply depot for your resource deposits, your barracks, sensor towers, missile turrets, refinery, bunker and engineering bay for research. Once you have played the game for awhile you unlock other buildings. These include a factory, a merc haven, shadow ops for ghost training, a deep space relay and a starport for your air units. The Terran race can be unstoppable if your strategies are sound.
Protoss Buildings and Units
The enigmatic Protoss race are the aliens of the three. There are a total of 15 units that you can play with, and each is as formidable as the last. Starcraft 2 units for the Protoss are the most advanced in the game. Your basic ground units are your zealot, sentry and stalker, with your high templar and dark templar coming later in the game. The Protoss artillery ground units include the probe for resources, an observer for scouting, an immortal, warp prism, colossus and archon. The air units consist of the mothership, a hugely powerful unit that ends battles, the carrier, void ray and phoenix.
Zerg Building and Units
The broody Zerg race are the despised insects of the game, and many diamond players use them to exact terrible humiliation on Terran and Protoss diamond gamers. Starcraft 2 units for the Zerg are not really built so much as bred. There are 15 Zerg units, like their basic ground forces – larva, zergling and roaches. Your heavier insects that could be classed as artillery would be your baneling, nydas worm, hydralisk, queen, a drone for resource gathering, an infester and the earth shattering ultralisk. The Zerg forces that are air born are; the corruptor, overseer, overlord, mutalisk and powerful brood lord.
These Starcraft 2 units each have a specific role, upgrade and ability. In order to master them you have to go through each race, learning how the buildings work, how the units are created and then to more advanced strategic thinking. Eventually you’ll know how many minutes it will take you to set up a Protoss basic defence with a long haul game in mind and enough minerals and units to defeat your 3 opponents. It all starts with a guide, and the valuable tips and strategies you learn from diamond ranked gamers.
