Starcraft 2 Terran strategy sees beginners, mid range players and pros fighting it out on the battlefield as the Terran race. Terran strategy has always been highly prized, and now with all the new features of Starcraft 2, the mighty Terran race is stronger than ever. A great race to play if you are into long games, the Terran shine when their unit upgrades even-out the playing field in the advanced stages of the game.
Of all three races the Terran have the most solid defence building capabilities, and they can hunker down in an area and defend against anything if the base is well planned out. Their attacks are often devastating, especially when the army is diverse and attacks from a distance. Your Starcraft 2 Terran strategy is very important at the beginning of the game, because this is when you are most vulnerable.
Getting the Goods, Building an Army
Any well planned Terran strategy depends on your economy. Without a steady stream of resources you won’t be able to build, create units or win the game. Your first priority in any match up is to bang out a fair number of SCV units to gather your resources. Your supply line is the lifeblood of your base, which is why it gets attacked so often. Terran gamers often send marines, marauders or a viking or two to secure their supply of minerals. In this instance its better to have too may defences for your supply lines than none. Take too much economy damage and you’ll lose the game.
Your Ground Attack
For early attacks assemble a group of marines to hit and run stray targets, scouts or directly attack your opponents supply lines. Your Starcraft 2 Terran strategy should include sending hellions to scout your map, especially if you think your opponent has put together a little horde of zerglings, marines or zealots and is sending them your way. Your Air Assault
The Terran air raid is vital to your Starcraft 2 Terran strategy, and games have often been won thanks to the coordinated efforts of well placed air units. Your banshee will crush large ground units, and is excellent for economy damage. A battle cruiser means pain to all enemy units that cross its deadly path. With precision ground and air attack capabilities this is the unit to take with you for that final epic attack. Just make sure that you bring along some air support, you can’t outrun any pursuing units.
A practical Starcraft 2 Terran strategy will get you far as the Terran race. Once you have settled on a few strategies that work, constantly mix and match various units to different situations in order to recognize how to suppress an attack. As a Terran you will be fighting aliens, insects and other men. Keep your economy tight, your timing perfect and your units upgraded – and you’ll win a lot of games with this race.
